33 and pizza

33 weeks! Hooray!

In honor of making it that far, the social workers/child life division of the hospital gave a little pizza party...for sweet pea. Isn't that great? It's hard for the siblings to live with all this upheaval and waiting and no mama (though she says the "hospital" mama is alot nicer than the "home mama :)) so they order a pizza and bring movies and she and hubby slept over too. So she got to snuggle up on the bed with pizza and me, and EAT IN BED while WATCHING SNOW WHITE. Doesn't get any better, right? Oh, yes, there is also as much fresh ice water as you want, and hubby brought up breakfast to the room for the two of them. That kid is ready to move in, I tell you.

It was delightful. As was the night before, and yesterday afternoon, when hubby and I had more "date times". Sometimes we watch part of a movie, sometimes he's just working while I read, sometimes he eats lunch with me. Any way we slice it, though, it's time together without kid(s) and without alot of distractions. We are trying to appreciate this time for the calm, quality time that it truly is. Hard to see that through the fog of stress and crises that pop up sometimes, but we're trying to savor it in the here and now, instead of saying 3 months from now "dang- we had it SOOOO good then! Why didn't we appreciate it?"

AND just to make life in the hospital all the more delightful, they are now testing lots of yummy gluten-free foods on me for the new gluten-free menu they're developing. So the food service lady calls and says "Would you like gluten free pancakes again? Or wait, before you commit to that, I went shopping for you yesterday and found gluten-free english muffins; would you like and egg mcmuffiny kind of thing?" And they heard that it was pizza party day, so went and BOUGHT me a gluten-free pizza.

Yes, they are going to have to drag the whole family out of here kicking and screaming.
