up to us

Had my regular monitoring appointment today; Funnypants' heartrate looked good as usual on the monitor. Chatted with the doctor briefly, and since we're at 36 weeks tomorrow, she said it was pretty much up to us what we did now. Up to us to decide whether to keep taking medicine that (might) help stop contractions, up to us whether to get another progesterone shot (that was a big NO on that one, thank you very much...), up to us when I get up from bedrest. And really, up to Funnypants as to when she would like to arrive. The doc said if it were her, she would stay off her feet until Monday, since none of our docs are on call this weekend. But hubby would like Funnypants to be born earlier so he can make the conference he's supposed to be presenting at next week. It's probably too much to hope for her to stay in 'till AFTER the conference...

Really, in the end, we have no real control: just the illusion thereof. Probably another of those dang Life Lessons again.
